Sally Armfield Wins Botanical Illustration Prize

My very dear friend Sally Armfield has won second prize in the Yarram Courthouse Gallery native plant illustration exhibition. Her beautiful painting of a Kangaroo Apple is amazing and well deserving of a prize. Sally has been a botanical illustrator for many years, specialising in indigenous plants. And being the very multi-talented lady that she is, Sally is also a textile designer and we have worked on many interesting projects together, and hopefully will do so again in the future. I am also very lucky to have such a good friend.

The exhibition is on for another week, click on the link for more details.

Sea of Dreams. Port Philip Bay 1915-2013 (Part 2)

The Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery has a great exhibition on at the moment, and is worth the drive out to this beautiful part of Melbourne.

I went to Part 1 last summer so wanted to catch Part 2. It features some rarely seen gems as well as revisiting works by popular artists such as the Boyds, Nolan, Percival  and Clarice Beckett. The exhibition runs till 2 March 2014.
